Playa Blanca

costa teguiseEarlier this season, We spent 4 weeks hopping around the Canary Islands. Such a truly awesome experience, countless experience to be had, countless dazzling shores to uncover, waking up in new wonderful resort daily. So superb, but this requires a lot of preparation and organisation! This is not all set out for you. You choose your unique journey and then organize your own route! Thankfully the Canaries isn’t that enormous that people can be lost there easily. My favourite in all was The island of lanzarote. It’s a pleasant tiny place with stunning inhabitants. It has its own way of doing things as the rest of the islands have got. You can neglect the world if you are on the island. Lanzarote is so unique remote and quiet to live on. You’ll have an incredible vacation there with all the water fun and then excursions around the island. I wanted to talk about some things which i learned en route that can help with all the scheduling and generally being a tourist. Many are simple, but when you feel as if a million miles away from home, you can not get any hotspot and you’ve got hardly any money with you, minor tips may feel lifesavers! On The island the single thing you should have is going to be sunscreen to bear the very hot sunlight. The weather is mostly sun-drenched so when it’s raining the life halts there. Residents stay at home close the doorway and windows and awaiting the bad weather to pass.
Lanzarote is known as a windy area. You will first see this when your plane gets ready for making a landing. The north of the island is commonly more windy compared to the south. If you can’t bear the fine sand in your trainers and face try and move nearer to the bottom of the island. Puerto del carmen is a warm and bright place anytime of the year to have fun with bars and eateries to go out.
Playa blanca is also a wonderful location for all of the people with its amazing landscape and relaxed atmosphere. It is the favourite spot for the familys and folks looking for a more slow paced trip. The island only and greatest jazz pub the Blue Note is also based here which tells a lot about the folks that come here as well.
Costa Teguise is the most windy of them and wind-surfers enjoy this very much. If you aren’t right into jazz or giant going to parties then this really is your resort to be on a holiday vacation. There are accommodation, rentals, bars and restaurants of any sort to pass your time and energy after having a hard day at the outdoor pool.
If you happen to be more into cafes than walking below the blazing sunshine then you may call for some money as well. Resorts are usually cheap so is the meal as well as the cold drinks inside discos. Many accommodations are offer meals that makes life incredibly easier in case you aren’t down into preparing your own meals or looking for restaurants each day to have a average dish. Mind that a majority of places won’t allow bank cards under a specific amount so keeping money in Lanzarote can be life saver.

Playa Blanca – Lanzarote
Playa Blanca is the southernmost town of Lanzarote and the newest resort of the island.
Despite providing the only regular ferry to the next island, it has a very relaxed atmosphere. Giving home to five star hotels like Princesa Yaiza, Dream Gran Castillo and the glamorous villas all around the town help distinguish itself from a bit more active Costa Teguise and pulsing Puerto Del Carmen.
Located 45 km from the Airport it is a journey in itself to get here through the volcanic landscape. Taxi ride is the easiest solution but there are airport shuttle services to choose from, too. Public transport is also available just hop on the Bus: Línea 161, which takes you there through Puerto Del Carmen
There are four main beaches:
Playa Dorada
The golden beach is right next to the Papagayo shopping centre. Its manmade cove breaks the ocean’s waves making it an ideal spot for swimming. Renting out pedalos is also somewhat popular but here you will find the must-have’s for any beach holiday: the banana boats, kite-surfs and parascending.
Playa Blanca
The main beach of the town surrounded by bars and restaurants. It makes an ideal spot to get your tan if you like being around or rather in front of people who enjoy the picturesque view of the dunes of Fuertaventura.
Playa Flamingo
Being left out of the town centre it is a more tranquil beach but still equipped with some restaurants and shops. It is next to the Flamingo beach resort enclosed by a cove makes a lovely spot to enjoy the sun watching the azure waves. It is the closest sandy beach to Montaña Roja and the surrounding developments.
Papagayo
Located outside of the actual town it is a part of a natural reserve. It is accessible on foot on a dirt road from the east side of the town. Taking a car may be more convenient but count on a small toll that is collected at the entrance. Alternatively, there is a water taxi service from the harbour.
Playa Blanca Nightlife
There are some pubs and clubs in town where you are welcomed until the sun raises. Although if you really are into pouring champagne to everyone while dancing on the tables and singing 500 miles then you may take a closer look at Puerto Del Carmen’s great selection of party places.
However, if you are into fine restaurants looking over the marina enjoying the view and talk to people close to you then you have found yourself a nice place to spend the night. Later you can pop into the island’s best or rather only jazz bar with live performances and feel the rhythm shivering down on your back.
Marina Rubicon
If you like watching boats floating on water and listening to the wind rustling under the feathers of seagull’s wings while sipping a coffee or something that gets you through the day then this place should not be missed. Additionally it gives a place to a shopping centre and a morning market every Wednesday and Saturday.
Shopping
Well, Lanzarote is not a shopping paradise and Playa Blanca is not the sweetest fruit in it. A trip to Biosfera in Puerto Del Carmen may be necessary if you feel let down by the shops of the Promenade or the posh Marina Rubicon. But hey you shouldn’t expect much in a place where men wear flip-flops, shorts and T-shirts all year long and women change from sandals to boots because it is officially winter in the calendar.
